2018 ALBUM || HALF WAY DONE!!

This seems to be the time of year that I work on getting my albums caught up. I've been working hard to get caught up before I get super busy with taxes, but editing 3 weddings has taken up SO much time! Here are my pages for January to June of 2018:

Dang it, why is it so hard sometimes to just be yourself? Why do we compare ourselves to each other so much? Why do we think we should all be at the same place at the same time? WE SHOULDN'T!!! We all have such different experiences, personalities and goals. We are all unique and different and I think that's just the way it's meant to be!!!

LOOK & LISTEN || PICKLE BARREL MAY 2018

I love all of Fayette's kits, but some just speak to me more than others. I knew as soon as I saw this one that I had to use these photos from Downtown Chicago that my amazingly talented photographer friends took of me. You can see more of them HERE, and HERE. I love the soft colors with the beautiful scenery of the city.

I wrote this journaling on Sunday when I was having a particularly good day.  I was feeling full of love and light. Tuesday night I came home to a very upset child after a stressful day a work and all "heck" broke loose. I cried for hours, I was angry and sad. I miss my mamma. I'm lonely. I can't help my son because he needs to do this on his own, and as fate would have it, I needed to post these pages right during the moments that I was struggling the most. I didn't feel hopeful or joyful. BUT, I pulled up these pages and remembered the peace and joy I felt on Sunday. I decided right then that I wasn't going to let a bad night override those feelings. Yes, I still felt sad, yes I still miss my mamma, but I am trying to see myself through His eyes, I am trying to find peace and joy in the midst of trials.....and some days, it really is just much harder than others!! :)

TWO HEARTS || VALENTINE'S DAY LOVE!!

I don't really love Valentines Day. It's always been one of those holidays that I had expectations of having something special, or getting something special or doing something special....and more times than not things did not work out, or we didn't do anything, or I didn't get anything....and it was just one of those days that led to disappointment. Whose with me?

This year I was prepared for nothing. No flowers, no candy, no special treats....and then I went to work, and my boss gave me flowers and one of my good friends brought me flowers and a cold diet coke from McDonald's - she speaks my love language - and another friend brought me chocolates. What could have turned into a hard, disappointing day was a gentle reminder that my Father in Heaven loves me and knows that there are many people in my life who love me and care about me.

So, in a much better spirit, Happy Valentines Day!! Tell all of those in your life that you love them, it just might make their day!!! And then scrapbook it with this CUTE kit from Fayette Designs called Two Hearts!! I LOVE this quote, one of my all time favorites!! #iloveyoumore

I was so excited when I opened this kit and saw the colors, you all know how much I love teal, but I also love the purple and pink and bright feathers. I was so excited to work with this kit, I LOVE the wordart and the cute frames - and basically ALL of it!!!

2018 OLW || RISE

I've been participating in choosing ONE LITTLE WORD for about 5 years. I don't make new years resolutions. I don't need to wait until the new year to set goals. I don't want to set goals I won't achieve. {you know I'm right!!} So, this is my solution, I pick a word and it's my mantra. My theme. My goal. It's what I focus on for the year and it's been working GREAT for me. My 2018 OLW is RISE!!
